A few summers ago I visited Hillside, the garden of designer Dan Pearson and his partner Huw Morgan, for a party. The culture of sharing in gardening is strong and laid out on tarpaulin in the garden were a selection of irises, bareroot and in their summer dormancy, for partygoers to choose from.
